Are you Feeling Overwhelmed as a Mom?

 November 1, 2021

Let's face it - our world moves at an incredibly fast pace. There is so much high demand put on us as mothers. If we are not careful, feeling overwhelmed as a mom is a perpetual state that we can fall into.

Think about this, though. Were you ever trained to manage this level of demand? Did you have a class in high school or college about how to be a mom, a teacher, a cook,  a housecleaner, a concierge, and still take care of your self, your kids and your marriage all at the same time?

My guess is that you didn't. But you know what? There's hope!

A Crisis of Depletion

The fact that women are so overwhelmed in our society is really creating a crisis of depletion.

We were created for contribution, but not contribution out of depletion, which is where so many moms are operating from.

Our contribution is to be one of abundance. Sounds impossible, right? The good news is that it is not impossible.

Being overwhelmed simply means being under skilled. Learning the skill of how to manage overwhelm can make all the difference in how you contribute.

Managing Overwhelm

Over the next month I will be tackling how you can learn to manage the overwhelm in your life. Each woman's overwhelm looks a little different, and the solution starts with being aware of what overwhelm is and how it is presenting in your life.

The problem is compounded, too, because if we do not learn to manage the overwhelm in our life, it will have an effect on our children, our family and our community.

Being habitually overwhelmed robs the world of our contribution because we cannot balance all the parts of our life in a harmonious way, so we aren't able to give out of a place of abundance. This creates a long-term crisis.

However, it is not your fault that this happens. It simply is because you were never given the skills to know how to manage it.
