I'll be honest here. The fourth quarter of 2017 was very difficult for me. There was a lot of tough stuff going on so by the end of the year I was looking for a new start for the coming year. Every year I take part in Jennifer Fulwiler's Saint Name Generator and I was excited to see that she had come up with a Word of the Year Generator for this year to. I was pumped for a good word for my new start! I said a quick but heartfelt prayer to the Holy Spirit and hit the button. I couldn't believe the word that showed up on my screen...
Happy Feast of All Saint's Day! What a wonderful way to begin the month of November, a month for giving thanks for all of our friends in Heaven and for all of our friends suffering in Purgatory. Ok, that sounds like we're giving thanks because they are suffering. You know what I mean. Right? We're giving thanks because we know they are on their way to Heaven! Ok, good.
This month, I'd like to present a challenge to you...
We currently have a four year old staying in our house. It only takes a little while to realize how long it has been since there has been someone that little in your life. This morning was her first morning with us so we got her up, fed her, helped her dress and off to Mass we went. My two daughters did most of it, but as I was sitting in church waiting for Mass to start, I was overwhelmed with the thought, "How did I ever do this with 7 little children?" I mean, really, how did I do this?
As I mentioned on my Facebook page, I signed up my 7th and 9th graders for a local co-op this year, mainly because they've never had the experience with one before. Our first day was this past Tuesday and it got me thinking a lot about co-ops in general, as well as other ones that we've been in before.
I think that if you are considering either joining or starting a co-op, you really need to ask yourself what it is that you want this co-op to accomplish. Make sure you know the answer to this question before you begin.
This binder contains all of my homeschooling history, or at least the short version of it. If there was ever a fire in my home, it would behoove me to grab this binder. What's in it that is so important, you wonder? Well, it contains the coursework and grades for all of my children from their earliest years through the end of high school.
